About the ISDW
Objective of the workshop
Design education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Solving global problems requires understanding different cultures and perspectives. In this workshop, students from diverse design backgrounds get to collaborate and use English to communicate. They learn about other cultures, build empathy, and develop global design skills. The goal of ISDW is to help young designers connect with the world and be better prepared for the global age.
2023 ISDW Workshop core
The ISDW focuses on what designers do to solve problems effectively.
It begins by deeply understanding the problem from the user's point of view. It is also necessary to identify different types of users and how they relate to the problem.
Understanding the context and how it shapes user opinions and experiences is key.
The workshop encouraged creative thinking and collaboration with locals through extensive fieldwork, in order to come up with a variety of solutions.
It was all about diving into the problem, considering different perspectives, and working together to find the best solution
